BILL LEE: NOW 62 AND RECENTLY INDUCTED INTO THE RED SOX HALL OF FAME
There is no doubt. Pitcher Bill Lee is the greatest interview in Boston Red Sox history.
This weekend Lee was inducted into the Red Sox Hall of Fame along with Mo Vaughn and Mike Greenwell. For a brief interview with Lee: CLICK HERE
The Lee interview is a classic. First, he berates smug, self-serving pitcher Curt Schilling. He also chastises the Red Sox for trading outfielder Manny Ramirez. He actually calls Manny “a prophet” and says the only reason the Red Sox traded him is “they were tired of winning.”
About Manny Ramirez and his relationship with the fans of Boston Lee says,
“A prophet in his own time is not well-received in this town.”
WHY WAS BILL LEE NICKNAMED “SPACEMAN” DURING HIS PLAYING DAYS IN THE ‘70S? BECAUSE HE WAS FREAKIN’ NUTS!
