The New York Times had an incredibly touching piece on former Jacksonville Jaguar football player Richard Collier yesterday. Collier was shot 14 times just before the start of the NFL season.
The shooting left Collier paralyzed from the waist down and cost him his left leg, which was amputated. Karen Crouse’s brilliant article tells of Collier’s positive attitude in the face of losing not just his career, but his very ability to walk. It’s an award-winning feature.
