YI JIANLIAN
You can’t say we didn’t warn our readers that this might happen. Mediocre New Jersey Nets forward Yi Jianlan is dangerously close to securing a starting spot in this year’s NBA All-Star Game.
Yi currently has 959,324 votes and has narrowed the gap between Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics who is in second place in All-Star voting among Eastern Conference forwards. The NBA currently allows All-Star voting in China.

thats what happens when you let the fans vote decide the winner. anybody with an internet feed can stuff the ballot box!! besides, most fans don’t pay enough attention to say who’s playing the best. it’s just a popularity poll. iverson deserves to start over, say, rajon rondo?? or devin harris?? or derrick rose?? and even though tim duncan is a hall of famer, there’s better choices this year, biedrins from golden state, stoudamire in phoenix, nowitzki in dallas…all putting up better numbers this year.
but who cares? it’s just a popularity contest.
