IOWA HAWKEYES BROADCASTER ED PODOLAK
Announcer Ed Podolak is reportedly in trouble with University of Iowa officials after pictures of him partying appeared on the internet. Podolak is a former NFL and Iowa running back. He actually holds the NFL playoff record for most combined yards in one game (350 set on Christmas day 1971) when he was with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The photos of Podolak drinking with a woman (not his wife) originally appeared in an Iowa fan chatroom and were picked up by the website thewizofodds.com . They were taken in Tampa where the Hawkeyes played South Carolina in the Outback Bowl. Podolak has been Iowa’s color commentator since 1982.

Honestly, he is a representation of the Universtiy and the football program he speaks to. There is nothing wrong with partying but a) he is not with his wife–I am sure she would be pleased at this picture and b) he has already been picked up on the U of I campus passed out. The dude has a problem.

It’s sad when someone has to justify some other guys actions. Dude is eye-raping this chick and that isn’t wrong? Wtf? What happened to our morals? Dude has a wife and this is okay? This pretty much seems to be the standard for the Hawkeyes. All he did was repeat plays on his microphone anyway. I’m sure he can find a job at a grocery store making announcements.

We’ll miss ya Eddie….but seriously, why do ya put yourself in that kind of
position? Perhaps more Hawk fans and athletes should take the hint and sober up a bit-it’s getting out of hand!
