MICKEY ROURKE

One day after his Golden Globe Award for Best Actor, the New York Daily News, Men’s Health, The National Enquirer and the website Steroid Nation all featured reports that imply veteran actor Mickey Rourke used steroids to bulk up for his movie role in “The Wrestler.”

In their Rush & Molloy column, The Daily News calls Rourke’s steroid use “likely” even though the article points out that Rourke  had a fitness regiment that included working out nearly three hours daily and eating seven meals a day. The article also refers to an interview Rourke gave to Men’s Health magazine where he said, “When I’m a wrestler, I behave like a wrestler.”

it’s clear to me the guy did the juice, but who cares. I mean, he WAS the character. It was such a moving (and simply beautiful) portrayal of the human condition. This movie isn’t about wrestling, it’s about life. It’s fucking awesome.
