Yet another Major League Baseball player has had his financial assets frozen as federal authorities investigate Wall Street swindler Allen Stanford. Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Scott Eyre says he has $13 left in his wallet. Otherwise, he says, he’s broke.
According to Baseball-reference.com, the lefty has earned $15,036,666 in his career. Unfortunately, Eyre had virtually all of it invested in the Stanford Group. Eyre says he’s broke and may have to resort to borrowing money from his teammates.
