MICHAEL PHELPS’ REPUTATION IS STILL SMOKIN’-KELLOGG, NOT SO MUCH
The Kellogg company can’t win. They were the only major corporation who dropped Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps after a photograph turned up of him smoking marijuana from a bong. Now, the company is paying a HUGE price for firing Phelps.
The Vanno Company actually monitors major corporations on an ongoing basis to determine their popularity. Here’s a graph of their recent findings about Kellogg:
Without going into a ton of detail, most consumers have come to the following conclusion:
MICHAEL PHELPS AND BONG: GOOD
EVIL CEREAL COMPANY: BAD
Before firing Michael Phelps, Kellogg was the 9th most popular corporation in America. After firing Michael Phelps, Kellogg is the 83rd most popular company. Kellogg actually suffered a worse P.R. hit from firing Phelps than they did by killing some of their customers with tainted peanut butter.
