DARREN OLIVER
Los Angeles Angels pitcher Darren Oliver is the latest Major League Baseball player to reveal he has had his financial assets frozen while federal authorities investigate the Stanford Group. Oliver joins Johnny Damon, Xavier Nady, Mike Pelfrey, Jacob Ellsbury, Carlos Pena, Adrian Beltre, Scott Eyre and a host of unnamed players who have had their money grabbed by the Feds. Some, like Eyre, have had their entire life savings seized by the government.
Oliver says he has been assured that he will get his money back. What will he do next?
Oliver says when he gets his money back he’s going to “bury it in the back yard.” He didn’t sound like he was kidding.
