In the entire history of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, no fighter has ever won nine fights in a row. Middleweight champion Anderson Silva attempts to do just that Saturday night at UFC 97.

Silva takes on Thales Leites in the main event which takes place in Montreal. An even more compelling fighter on the card is Chuck Liddell. The Iceman is arguably the most popular fighter in UFC history. However, Liddell has lost three of his last four matches since 2007 (to Quinton Jackson, Keith Jardine and Rashad Evans.) Liddell is literally fighting for his UFC life against Shogun Rua.

Other fighters on the UFC 97 card include Cheick Kongo, Jason McDonald, Nate Quarry and Ed Herman.
