NBA PULLS THE TRIGGER ON GILBERT ARENAS SUSPENSION

GILBERT ARENAS FOOLISHLY PANTOMIMES GUNPLAY BEFORE TUESDAY’S 76ERS GAME

Gilbert Arenas really screwed up. Again.

The NBA Wednesday announced they were suspending Arenas without pay indefinitely following an incident on December 21st where he apparently brought four guns to his place of work-the Washington Wizards basketball arena. That followed a confrontation with teammate Javaris Crittenton. The alleged gunplay is still being investigated by Washington D.C. and federal authorities. However, the final straw for NBA commissioner David Stern actually occurred Tuesday night when Arenas compounded the situation. He idiotically pantomimed shooting his teammates with his fingers during pregame introductions of the Wizards/Philadelphia 76ers game.

We all love Arenas because he’s crazy. Gilbert being Gilbert. However, once you introduce firearms and possible felony gun charges into the equation the laughter should cease. Arenas appeared to understand the severity of the situation he was in a statement issued on Monday. Unfortunately, those were just words (probably written by his lawyer.) Arenas blew it all with his actions Tuesday night. In reality, he had continued joking about the gun incident to the media and on his Twitter account. Arenas was so out of control that he was even criticized by famed civl rights leader Al Sharpton. Arenas was contrite in yet another prepared statement issued Wednesday following his suspension.

Arenas’ idiocy was prominently displayed on the pages of the Washington Post. It was all too much for Stern, who suspended Arenas on Wednesday saying he was “not currently fit to take the court in an NBA game.”
