Former NFL tight end Clint Didier is running for the U.S. Senate in the state of Washington. Didier is running as an anti-government conservative Republican and has denounced government spending in every appearance and interview he’s made.
However, the Seattle Times ran a story Tuesday pointing out that Didier himself has received $273,000 in government handout checks for farm subsidies. Didier admitted receiving farm subsidy checks. He also acknowledged his own family farm existed only because of a government project called the Columbia Basin Project. Said Didier, “Without water from the Grand Coulee (damn), we would be nothing more than a desert.”
