How do you know newspapers are dead? A Birmingham, Alabama sports columnist just left his job to go do PR work for British Petroleum.
Ray Melick of the Birmingham News wrote his final column last month. A former colleague of Melick’s at the Birmingham News recently wrote:
“Ray’s doing a good job for BP. So he’s dead to me.”
