What a terrible offseason for National League MVP Ryan Braun. First news came out that the Milwaukee Brewers outfielder tested positive for steroids and faces a possible 50 game suspension. Like all juicing athletes, Braun is proclaiming his innocence. However, in his case, if Braun’s defense is accurate it might worsen his image.
Yes, Ryan Braun is apparently going to play the herpes card in an attempt to get out of his PED suspension. Multiple baseball and gossip websites are reporting that Braun’s astronomically high steroids level are a result of his genital herpes medication. The mainstream media has not picked up on the rumors based on the scummy and absolutely charming sources reporting the story.
So far even Wikipedia and scandal sites like Deadspin.com aren’t even touching the Ryan-Braun-has-the-herp story. Although Braun’s camp did issue a statement about a “private medical issue” and “unusual circumstances.”

why is it that blog after blog wants to write on this subject, but refuse to do any research about what’s going on? almost all sources are saying braun never tested positive for any PED or steroid, but rather just had elevated testosterone and some sources are saying he did test positive for a banned substance which was not a PED/steroid. so by talking about his “astronomically high steroid level”you are doing him a diservice along with the whole situation. remember none of this is supposed to be out yet, as it was illegally leaked.

I havent heard so much bullshit just to try to have him found innocent. Why is he not being crucified like all the others like Manny Ramirez was. Herpes medication has nothing to do with elevated whatever. Instead it lowers it. Who do you think you’re fooling. Is he getting special treatment? Seems to me he is and that MVP award should have gone to Matt Kemp.

They prescribe steroids for herpes and erectile dysfunction which can cause a spike in testosterone levels not lower them. As far as Matt Kemp goes he’s a good player but mvps help their team win not miss the playoffs
