Australian fans went to a riot today and a tennis match broke out.
For the third straight year, ethnic Serbs and Croats clashed at the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne. Violence erupted in the stands with punches being thrown and people being hit with everything from bottles to flagpoles. The incident began when a group of Serbian fans watching the match of countryman Novak Djokovic began hurling racial taunts at Croats in the stands.
A FoxSports report described onlookers as “horrified” at the level of violence. More than 150 people were ejected from the stadium. Shockingly, Australian police did not make a single arrest in the fracas.
