How Barack Obama ruined the Boston Celtics

August 18, 2011

Shaquille O’Neal has a new book coming out. As expected, “Shaq Uncut” is going to be AWESOME!

An excerpt of the bio, written by former Boston Globe now ESPN columnist Jackie McMullen, has been released. The highlight everyone is focusing on is a story Shaq tells about President Barack Obama ruining teammate Rajon Rondo’s jump shot. According to Shaq, several Celtics (including O’Neal, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and point guard Rondo) attended a charity fundraiser and ended up playingball with president Obama.

At one point, according to O’Neal, the President turns to Allen and says, “Hey, Ray, why don’t you teach this kid how to shoot?”

A devastated Rondo apparently never regained his jumper and his shooting got worse and worse because of the joke.

SHOCKINGLY, PETA IS NOT IMPRESSED WITH NATE ROBINSON’S “CAT MINK” COAT

NATE ROBINSON AND HIS CAT MINK COAT

Another celebrity is in trouble with PETA. The animal rights group has contacted Boston Celtics guard Nate Robinson asking him to give up his Christmas present from teammate Shaquille O’Neal-a full length fur coat made of “cat mink.”

That’s right, Robinson’s coat is made entirely out of a special breed of dead cats.

PILE OF COCAINE FOUND IN THE HOUSE OF GUNNED DOWN FORMER CELTIC

CHARLES SMITH

Former Boston Celtics guard Charles Smith was shot in his Maryland house Thursday. Police say they found “a large amount of cocaine and evidence of a gambling operation” at Smith’s house. The illegal gambling operation is being investigated as a possible motive for the shooting. Smith is listed in serious condition in a Maryland hospital.

Smith was a second team All-American basketball player at Georgetown in the late ’80s. He was a member of the U.S. Olympic team in 1988 and the 1989 Big East Player of the Year under John Thompson. Smith ended up being passed over in the NBA Draft but played with the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves. He later bounced to at least seven minor league teams then played basketball internationally in Serbia, Greece, Spain, Belgium, Italy and Argentina, retiring in 2001.

Smith also spent more than three years in prison after being convicted of vehicular homicide in the deaths of a pair of Boston University students. Smith struck and killed the students while on a 10-day contract with the Celtics. He fled the scene but was later arrested and admitted to having at least two beers before the accident.

IS NBA PLAYER A GANG MEMBER?

September 19, 2010

FROM MARQUIS DANIELS’ TWITTER PAGE

The website Mediatakeout.com is reporting that it has evidence that Boston Celtics player Marquis Daniels is a member of the Bloods street gang.

Media Takeout says Daniels posted a picture of red baseball cap and red shoes on his Twitter page (red is the Bloods color.) Daniels also doesn’t use the letter “c” in his Tweets. Members of the Bloods also refuse to write the letter “c” because of their long running war with the rival gang, the Crips.

Immediately after Media Takeout published their story, Daniels erased/destroyed his entire Twitter account.

PORN STAR IS BASKETBALL PLAYER’S “KRYPTONATE”

NATE ROBINSON

It’s been quite a week for NBA player Nate Robinson. The former New York Knicks guard signed a two-year $8 million contract with the Boston Celtics. The signing came one day after the celebrity gossip site MediaTakeout.com announced Robinson had made porn star Samone Taylor his “wifey.”

Taylor’s a class act. Her last video was entitled, “Your Black Girlfriend Gang Banged by Rednecks.”

In that video she has sex with multiple white guys who are self-proclaimed racists wearing nothing but Confederate flag t-shirts. Never the less, it was Taylor (not Robinson) who took to the Internet making a YouTube video denying the affair:

ASSHAT OF THE DAY: TED GREEN

PAUL PIERCE: LIVING WELL IS THE BEST REVENGE

So, do the sports editors of the Los Angeles Times ever read what goes into their newspaper? Can’t say as I blame them if they don’t. Since the death of Jim Murray over a decade ago, the paper has produced more transvestites than quality writers.

The usually docile L.A. sports world received a jolt yesterday when the comatose Times sports editors let this gem slip through by failed newscaster turned blogger/tv producer Ted Green:

“By the way, Pierce’s idea of a fun night is going clubbing and getting stabbed. Good times!”

Green was hyping the upcoming Boston Celtics/Los Angeles Lakers NBA Finals by referring to a 2000 stabbing incident that almost killed Celtics star Paul Pierce. Green made the reference while writing his blog piece for the Times on the topic “Guide to hating the Celtics.” Apparently, the proper response to “Beat L.A.!” is “Stab Boston.”

The Times eventually pulled Green’s piece but no before being nationally mocked over it. With all of the quality blogs that have been axed by the Times to save money, it’s unbelievable that the 60ish Green still has even a part time gig.

BROKEASS CELTICS WANT MONEY BACK FROM BIG BABY

GLEN “BIG BABY”” DAVIS

How in the hell are the Boston Celtics having “financial difficulty?”

Yahoo! Sports has an online story today that says the Boston Celtics are going after forward Glen “Big Baby” Davis in an attempt to get back some of the free agent money they paid the portly power forward this offseason. Davis broke his thumb in a fight over the weekend. The Boston Fox TV affiliate says a suspension of Davis “likely” according to the Celtics. The Yahoo! article also states that one of the motivations for the Celtics wanting their money back is that owner Wyc Grousbeck is having “financial difficulties.” Says Yahoo!:

“Wyc has been on the warpath for two days over this,” a league source told Yahoo! Sports. “They want to get money back from him.”

The team has been hurting financially, the source said, and Grousbeck sees this as an opportunity to recoup some of Davis’ salary.”

Davis was involved in a fist fight with a friend and former high school  teammate Saturday night/Sunday morning. Davis punched Shawn Bridgewater in the face, breaking his thumb in the process. The two got into the brawl while they were driving. Davis says he was simply defending himself from a drunken Bridgewater who was hitting on his girlfriend. A police report seems to back up Davis’ version of the events and states that Davis himself was not “intoxicated.”

Davis is probably telling the truth and must be at least partially innocent since HE approached the media to get the facts of the incident out. Meanwhile, a reporter from the Boston Herald actually witnessed Bridgewater and Davis getting out of his car after the incident. Both men were bloodied and Bridgewater reportedly had a bloody nose and a “fat lip.”

Davis had surgery on his broken thumb and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

WHAT’S WITH DANNY AINGE AND RAJON RONDO?

RAJON RONDO AND DANNY AINGE

Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge may be looking to trade his starting point guard after spending the better part of yesterday trashing Rajon Rondo.

On WEEI radio yesterday, Ainge  said Rondo “needs to grow up” and “his presence hurt” the Celtics in the playoffs last year. Ainge then threw Rondo under the bus revealing he was fined for showing up late to a playoff game against Orlando. Ainge also ripped Rondo’s shooting saying the Magic “left him open” throughout their playoff series. Ainge concluded his Rondo-bashing by saying 23-year-old point guard out of Kentucky needs to be “more of a leader” and “is not a max player.”

Rondo’s agent, Bill Duffy, questioned the point of Ainge ripping his client. It was just a year ago that Rondo was the Celtics starting point guard during their run to an NBA Championship. There have been trade rumors circulating all week involving Rondo. Ainge was forced to spend most of Wednesday evening backtracking about his comments on Rondo saying, “We love the kid and think he’s got a bright future.” Ainge also said, “I don’t anticipate any trades happening.”

The Celtics do not have a first round pick in today’s NBA Draft.
