CHRIS BOSH: HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO “COWBOY UP” FOR THE MIAMI HEAT

Opponents are lining up to bash Miami Heat big man Chris Bosh like a pinata now that he’s down. With the talented Heat featuring LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Bosh et al off to an unbelievably pedestrian 5-4 start, critics are slamming the former Toronto Raptor as “soft.”

The Canadian media has been absolutely gleeful after longtime New York Post rumormonger Pete Vecsey quoted Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony as chirping, “I’m not Chris Bosh.” Melo went on to say he will be “straight up” and not do his former team the way Bosh left the Raptors if he leaves Denver.

Meanwhile, an NBA scout blasted Bosh as soft for averaging just over 6 rebounds per game with Miami. The scout called that figure “pathetic” for an athlete of Bosh’s size and abilities.

What’s the moral of the Chris Bosh story? Careful what you wish for. Bosh said he went to Miami so that all of his games would “be on tv.” Now, he’s wilting under the spotlight.

“IT’S ALL ABOUT BEING ON TV”

October 31, 2010

The Canadian media is pissed, but Miami Heat power forward Chris Bosh has flat out admitted he changed basketball teams this offseason soley for the exposure.

Bosh told a group of Canadian writers he left the Toronto Raptors because, “Really, it’s all about being on tv at the end of the day.” Bosh added, “A guy can average 20 and 10 (points and rebounds), and nobody really cares. If you don’t see it (on U.S. national television), then it doesn’t really happen.”

Bosh joined LeBron James and Dwyane Wade signing with the Miami Heat this offseason. The Heat play the maximum allowable number of games on ABC, ESPN and TNT. The Heat season opener set the all-time ratings record for TNT Tuesday. Their game against the Boston Celtics was the most watched NBA game in cable television history.

LEBRON AND D-WADE TO TAKE ON LAKERS CHRISTMAS DAY

According to today’s Miami Herald, the Three Kings will be on national television 34 times this upcoming NBA season. The Miami Heat featuring LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and company will be on all four NBA broadcast partners the maximum number of times-10 on ESPN, nine on TNT, nine on NBA TV and six on ABC.

However, there will be no Christmas Day matchup between James’ Heat and his former team the Cleveland Cavaliers. An ABC source says that would be “too negative” and depressing of a holiday theme.

CHRIS BOSH

Maybe the wrong Van Gundy brother got the high-paying tv gig. Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy displayed a quick wit (and the fact that he’s a sore loser) yesterday when he blasted NBA free agents LeBron James and Chris Bosh.

Bosh and Dwyane Wade announced yesterday that they were signing free agent contracts with the Miami Heat. Van Gundy, whose Orlando Magic have to play in the same state and division as the Heat, blasted Bosh as being Wade’s “lapdog.”

Also, with it looking more and more like Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James will also sign in Miami, Van Gundy also ripped the one hour ESPN tv show on which James will announce his signing.

WILL LEBRON MAKE IT A HEAT TRIFECTA?

Two of the biggest names in NBA free agency made their decisions today. LeBron James will make his tomorrow. Both Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh announced Wednesday that they are signing with the Miami Heat.

Wade and Bosh explained their decision to Michael Wilbon of ESPN. There are still reports that fellow mega-free agent Lebron james may join Wade and Bosh in South Beach.

A SIGN OF THINGS TO COME? LEBRON JAMES FLANKED BY POTENTIAL FUTURE TEAMMATES CHRIS BOSH AND DWYANE WADE WHEN THEY ALL PLAYED FOR TEAM USA IN AN EXHIBITION GAME IN VEGAS

It’s being called the first ever “Free-Agent Summit.” Basketball stars LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh reportedly met over the weekend in South Beach to lay out the possibility of their all three joining forces and signing with the same team in a quest for an NBA Championship. James, Bosh and Wade are all currently free agents and after July 8th can sign with any team they want (salary cap restrictions not withstanding.)

Even NBA commissioner David Stern admitted there was nothing he could do about Wade, Bosh and LeBron getting together. Meanwhile, current Fox Sports radio host and former ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith Tweeted today that it’s a done deal. James, Wade and Bosh are all signing with the Miami Heat. Depending on who you want to believe, LeBron James has either 1.) Already decided to bolt for the Miami Heat, 2.) prefers the city of Chicago and will sign with the Bulls, 3.) is just going to end up staying with the Cleveland Cavaliers, 4.) will get the full treatment from his celebrity buddyJay-Z to sign with his New Jersey Nets and their super-rich billionaire owner or 5.) is about to be wooed big-time by eccentric billionaire Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. Multiple teams have the cap room to sign James AND another NBA superstar. With a little effort, the Heat could sign three. In any scenerario, the New York Knicks are screwed and Bloomberg.com says if James leaves the Cavaliers the value of the franchise will drop by $250 million.

CHRIS BOSH WHINES ABOUT GETTING TORCHED BY SHAQ

Raptors Suns Basketball

SHAQ IS BACK

Shaquille O’Neal torched Toronto Raptors for 45 points Friday night in a 133-113 victory for his Phoenix Suns. It was the soon-to-be-37-year-old Shaq’s biggest offensive game in six years.

Now Toronto All-Star center Chris Bosh is whining about being lit up by an old man. Bosh says the only reason O’Neal was able to score 45 is that he cheats. Bosh accused Shaq of “just camping in the lane” and says the referees never called the three second rule.
