King went on CNN to defend President Bush and his ability to “stick and move” while dodging shoes.

An Iraqi tv journalist stood up during a press conference in Baghdad today and THREW HIS SHOES at U.S. President George W.  Bush. The man, identified as Muthahar al Zaidi, pulled off his shoes and reportedly yelled, “This is farewell kiss, you dog!”

The man threw both of his shoes at Bush before he was tackled and led off by security. Bush was making a surprise visit to Iraq as part of a farewell tour of the country. The AP is reporting that throwing a shoe at somebody is considered an extreme insult in Arab culture.

ECONOMY DRIVES W TO DRINK

President Bush famously quit drinking and became a teetotaler at the age of 40. Did he relapse and start drinking this weekend?

The website Crooks and Liars has a picture that is supposed to be of President Bush drinking a pisco on a recent trip to Peru. A wire service story notes that a pisco is a “margarita-like” drink. It contains pisco- a Peruvian brandy-with lemon juice, and egg whites.

The pisco sour is the national drink of Peru. The country even celebrates “Pisco Sour Day” in February. There is even a pisco sour fountain in Lima’s historic main square.

At this point you just have to feel sorry for George W. Bush. The beleagured 43 was shown on the official White House website today giving “the shocker.”
