NEVADA GOVERNOR JIM GIBBONS
As we’ve written on this site on numerous occassions, Nevada has America’s worst governor. Jim Gibbons has not only led the state into fiscal chaos, but he’s also been involved in a myriad of personal controversies. There’s the cocktail waitress who has accused the govenor of attempted rape, Gibbons’ messy divorce, and the 867 text messages he sent his mistress on his state phone just to name a few.
Now the governor is apparently having e-mail issues. The Reno Gazette-Journal is suing Gibbons to gain access to his government e-mails to a contractor the governor was accused of taking bribes from, several government officials and various Gibbons misstresses.
Among the e-mails the Reno paper wants access to are those Gibbons sent Leslie Durant. The Carson City paper ran pictures of the governor romancing the 40-ish blonde who once posed naked in Playboy:
Those pictures were taken in the parking lot and inside the rodeo. There were other pictures of the two together.
The Reno paper is also suing for Gibbons’ e-mails to another reported mistress named Kathy Karrasch. There were also photos of her published:
The Gazette-Journal is trying to obtain Gibbons’ e-mails to her on his state account as well. Ordinarily it would be pretty hard to believe that a state’s governor would be stupid enough to write his mistress using a state e-mail account. Unfortunately, Gibbons has already admitted to texting Karrasch 867 times on his state-issued cell phone, racking up an extra $130 in charges.
