Shaquille O’Neal has a new book coming out. As expected, “Shaq Uncut” is going to be AWESOME!

An excerpt of the bio, written by former Boston Globe now ESPN columnist Jackie McMullen, has been released. The highlight everyone is focusing on is a story Shaq tells about President Barack Obama ruining teammate Rajon Rondo’s jump shot. According to Shaq, several Celtics (including O’Neal, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and point guard Rondo) attended a charity fundraiser and ended up playingball with president Obama.

At one point, according to O’Neal, the President turns to Allen and says, “Hey, Ray, why don’t you teach this kid how to shoot?”

A devastated Rondo apparently never regained his jumper and his shooting got worse and worse because of the joke.

Chicago is out as a potential host of the 2016 Olympics.

Despite President Obama’s flying to Copenhagen to personally deliver an impassioned plea to the IOC for his hometown, Chicago was the first city voted out. The Chicago bid was apparently doomed by politics and the city’s refusal to pony up guaranteed tax money.

Rio de Janeiro was awarded the games in voting Friday afternoon.

The LA Times is reporting that President Barack Obama called Kanye West a “jackass” following the singer’s onstage outburst at the VMA Awards on Sunday.

The newspaper got its info from an ABC News reporter’s Twitter account. The President’s “jackass” comment was reportedly made during an “off-the-record” portion of an interview with CNBC overheard by ABC reporter Terry Moran. ABC later issued an apology and removed Moran’s Tweet (but not before screen grabs by the Times and other news organizations.)

 

 

West, meanwhile, made at least three apologies the latest of which was on the debut of the new Jay Leno show on NBC.

With President Barack Obama’s poll numbers continuing to fall, the “liberal” NBC News took a shot at the commander in chief via his birthday cake of all things.

Previously accused of being in Obama’s pocket, NBC blasted the president calling his birthday cake “hideous” and a “tacky monstrosity.”

It has been almost a week since President Obama accidentally stepped into controversy by mentioning the Skip Gates arrest at his press conference and he is still having to address the issue. At the time, President Obama said that Cambridge police acted “stupidly” by arresting his friend, Harvard professor Skip Gates. Gates was arrested in his own home even after identifying himself to police. The Cambridge police were called to the Gates home after a 911 call by a neighbor who suspected a possible burglary.

The arrest of Gates, who is black, has raised issues of racial profiling. President Obama has since backed off his original comments. He has invited Gates and Police Sgt. James Crowley, the officer who arrested him, to the White House this week. The three will apparently get together to share a beer.

The move is being called “beer diplomacy.” Presidential spokesman Robert Gibbs said Monday that the President drank a Budweiser at this month’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game and would probably repeat his choice at this week’s beer summit. Crowley apparently put in an order for a Blue Moon, which is brewed by Molson/Coors. Both of those choices are okay, since the White House only stocks American beer. Gates, however, may be in trouble. Gates told the Boston Globe that he prefers Red Stripe and Beck’s. Both of those choices are foreign beers. Red Stripe is brewed in Jamaica, Beck’s in Germany.
