Yesterday, the San Diego Chargers lost their sixth game in a row,victims of yet anothe Christ-like comeback by Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.

As the Chargers drove down the field in overtime, CBS cameras focused on kicker Nick Novak warming up on the sidelines. However, kicking wasn’t the only thing Novak was doing. He was also caught peeing on the sidelines.

Novak’s urinating was not only captured on tape but was then blown up by multiple sports blogs on the Internet, and confirmed by NBC insider Mike Florio.

Chargers safety sues Alka-Seltzer

San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle is suing the makers of Alka-Seltzer for using his image without permission. Boxes of the pain reliever featured Weddle’s picture from his college days at Utah. Apparently, had the University of Utah or the NCAA sold Weddle’s photo he wouldn’t have a case since the safety signed away his rights when he accepted a scholarship. Pro Football Talk, though, points out that Utah didn’t sell the picture.

JUNIOR SEAU’S CAR AFTER HE DROVE IT OFF A CLIFF

Monday was definitely NOT a good day for former San Diego Chargers star linebacker Junior Seau. First, Seau was arrested on domestic violence charges for allegedly striking his 25-year-old live-in girlfriend. Immediately following that arrest Seau drove his SUV off a 100-foot cliff.

Quick, can you name the member of the San Diego Chargers who’s played more seasons and more games than anyone else in the history of the team? Hint: he just set the Chargers record Monday night by playing in his 179th straight games. Answer: it’s long snapper David Binn.

Binn’s season (and possibly career) ended Tuesday as he was placed on injured reserve. Binn played most of Monday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs wth a hamstring injury that was so bad it was an “almost total tear of the muscle off the bone.”

Binn is best known for having sex with Pamela Anderson.

CHARGER CB CROMARTIE SUSPECTED IN CHAMPAGNE BOTTLE ASSAULT

Various celebrity websites, including TMZ.com, are reporting that Pro Bowl San Diego Chargers cornerback Antonio Cromartie is being investigated for assault with a deadly weapon. The investigation follows an incident last night where Cromartie apparently hit a man with a champagne bottle that he threw while out partying.

Cromartie was out celebrating the Chargers Sunday victory over the Denver Broncos at a San Diego bar with friends and teammates when a champagne spraying contest reportedly got out of control. Cromartie told Pacific Beach police that a champagne bottle had “slipped out of his hand.” One San Diego area newspaper is reporting that Cromartie has been arrested.

 

* Updated-TMZ now has photos of the victim and is reporting that Cromartie struck the man over the head with a champagne bottle. They also report there were several witnesses to the incident although no arrests have been made yet.

Reality tv star Tila Tequila is suing her ex-boyfriend San Diego Chargers star linebacker Shawne Merriman. Her lawsuit included a series of photographs showing her arms and throat bruised. Tequila (whose real name is Tila Nguyen) says Merriman caused the injuries by throwing her down “like a rag doll,” and choking her during an incident in September.

Nguyen accuses Merriman of being violent, anti-gay, and having a drug problem. She is 4’11″ and weighs 93 lbs. Merriman is 6’4″ and weigh 280, nearly a 200 pound difference. San Diego authorities have refused to prosecute Merriman citing a lack of evidence.

LINEBACKER OWES SAN DIEGO CHARGERS $416,000 FOR GETTING SHOT

It’s not debatable that the NFL has the worst union of all the major professional sports. Here’s another example of why. The San Diego Chargers are demanding $416,666 back from former linebacker Steve Foley. Foley was involved in an altercation and shot by an off duty San Diego police officer after a drunk driving chase in 2006. The Chargers contend that Foley’s signing bonus was actually a “signing, reporting, and playing” bonus. Since Foley never played in 2006 (what, with being shot and all) the Chargers want their signing bonus money back. Retroactively.

Foley never played another down in the NFL following the shooting incident. Virtually all veteran contracts in the NBA and Major League Baseball are 100% guaranteed. Even if the player is cut, injured or DIES. Meanwhile, the NFL not only doesn’t guarantee money, they routinely go after signing bonuses that they’ve already paid players.

NORV TURNER’S KEY TO SUCCESS: LOWERED EXPECTATIONS

San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner told reporters Monday that his football team is “not as good” as many experts think. Turner made his remarks at his weekly press conference.

Turner says the media and fans (not to mention online and Las Vegas sportsbooks) have overestimated where his team is at “right now.” The Chargers lost on Sunday to Baltimore, despite 436 yards passing by quarterback Philip Rivers. They barely eeked out a win against the Oakland Raiders in Week 1 of the NFL season.

TILA TEQUILA: “GIRLFRIEND” OR “GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE”

I have to admit I was a little confused when I read the latest headline on ESPN.com this afternoon. It read, “Merriman accused of choking girlfriend Tequila.”

I originally thought it meant that San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman was yet another NFL player who commited violence against women. This time while he was drinking his adult beverage of choice. As in, “Merriman accused of choking girlfriend. Tequila!”

Nope. Turns out Merriman is actually dating reality tv slut, Tila Tequila. For those of you over 30, who don’t have cable or a MySpace account, Tequila is probably the most promiscuous woman in America. Certainly the most promiscuous woman who has ever been given her own reality television show.  If Shawne Merriman thinks he’s “dating” Tila Tequila, I’ve got a newsflash for him: Dude, she’s NOT your “girlfriend.” It’s more like “Girlfriend Experience.”

The only difference between Tila Tequila and a prostitute is that most hookers probably have less sexual partners in a year than she does and probably remember SOME of the guys they have sex with on multiple occassions. Seriously. Tila Tequila conservatively has sex with 250 people a year including every man AND woman who appears on her tv show. It’s in her contract. I’m sure if they put an animal on “A Shot of Love” next season Tila Tequila would probably have sex with it. She PROMOTES herself as the biggest slut in television. The only time her publicists ever denied ANYTHING that Tequila ever did was when they put out the press release to deny rumors that she was “heterosexual.” If Shawne Merriman thinks he has some type of exclusive rights, he needs to put down the steroids and punch himself in the face.

You’ll recall, basketball star LeBron James suffered the most embarrassing moment of his career last week when he was dunked on by an unknown college basketball sophomore at his own basketball camp. James responded by having his evil Nike underlords confiscate the tape of the incident.

The only thing you can say about LeBron’s facial is that at least it wasn’t administered by a high schooler. That’s exactly what happened to San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers.

Rivers was beaten in a quarterback “skills competition” by a California high school player named Will Nunn at his own youth football camp. Unlike LeBron James, Rivers didn’t freak out and have his goons confiscate the tape. Video of the fiasco made its way onto the local San Diego and LA sports telecasts. Although, YouTube was forced to remove a seperate tape of the incident.
