UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON LOSES GAME ON CONTROVERSIAL CALL

WASHINGTON HUSKIES QUARTERBACK JAKE LOCKER (#10) HEADS TO SIDELINE WITH DREADED PENALTY FLAG ON THE GROUND

Embattled University of Washington football coach Tyrone Willingham needs every victory he can get. That’s what makes Saturday’s loss to BYU so tough.

Husky quarterback Jake Locker ran in what appeared to be a game-tying touchdown with two seconds left in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, the refs called Locker for “excessive celebration” following the score. The penalty moved Washington 15 yards back on the extra point attempt. The Huskies missed the kick and lost the game 28-27.

EXCESSIVE?

EXCESSIVE?!?

The call was one of the most controversial in college football history and is already infamous in Washington. Today’s Seattle Times features a front page headline, “Brutal Call Jolts Huskies”
