NEW YORK POST IMPLIES MONKEY BUSINESS

JUNGLE LOVE?

Today’s New York Post implies there may have been something more going on between a Connecticut woman and her now-dead celebrity chimpanzee than the typical owner/pet intimacy.

Here’s the lead from today’s Post article on the relationship between Sandra Herold and her ape,

“She fed him filet mignon and lobster tails. They shared cozy glasses of wine. They bathed and slept together. He tenderly brushed her hair. She gave him gifts and sweet kisses. He drew her pictures.”

The article goes on to say, “Herold’s human friends were always leery of the interspecies intimacy….” and describes the relationship with her chimpanzee by quoting a neighbor who said,

“What she had with that monkey was not normal.”

At one point in the article the Post even states, “Even if there was no monkey-panky going on…”
