MAYWEATHER JR. DOMINATES

Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley

Ringside observers called Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s unanimous decision over “Sugar” Shane Mosley Saturday a “masterful performance.”

Following a sluggish first two rounds, Mayweather dominated the fight against a quality opponent. The fight proves two things. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is as good a pound-for-pound fighter as anyone in the world. However, it also makes his continuous ducking of top flight fighters like Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto even more frustrating. The Mayweather/Mosley fight only took place after Mayweather backed out of an agreement to fight Pacquiao.

Mayweather Jr. remains undefeated in the ring. His chief rivals seem to be the IRS and the law. Mayweather’s bodyguard was recently arrested on attempted murder charges following a confrontation and shooting between the boxer and a man named Quincey Williams at a Las Vegas skating rink. Guns involved in the shooting were found in a search of Mayweather’s Las Vegas home and cars.

One other note from the fight, despite beating Mosley, Mayweather Jr. did not capture his WBA welterweight championship belt. That’s because despite making $22.5 million on the fight, Mayweather refused to pay the WBA their sanctioning fee. Mayweather is NOT a welterweight champion. Mosley is. Only in the screwed up world of boxing.

WILL FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. FINALLY AGREE TO FIGHT MANNY PACQUIAO??
