Another politician has attacked former Boston Red Sox World Series hero Curt Schilling. This time it was a Republican.
In a radio interview, former Rhode Island Senator Lincoln Chafee accused Schilling of faking his “Bloody Sock” heroics in the 2004 playoffs against the hated New York Yankees. Chafee said “former teammates” had said Schilling fabricated the incident. A spokesperson for Chafee later backed down from the remarks. Chafee is currently running for governor in Rhode Island.
The last New England politician who went after Schilling didn’t fare so well.
