ADMITTED WHOREMONGER DONALD STERLING
In the recent history of professional major League sports there are only two examples of franchises simply refusing to pay the guaranteed contracts of coaches the’ve fired. The most famous is Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis who point blank stiffed TWO football coaches. Davis refused to pay both Mike Shanahan and Lane Kiffin.
However, the just-don’t-honor-your-contract strategy was actually developed by another California sports owner, Donald Sterling of the Los Angeles Clippers. Sterling first employed the strategy on 64-year-old former coach Bill Fitch back in the
Today’s Los Angeles Times has the story of how Sterling is trying the same strategy again. He simply stopped sending checks to Dunleavy after he fired him as GM this year. This despite the fact that Dunleavy had a guaranteed contract. Dunleavy’s lawyer told a court that Sterling doesn’t pas “the laugh test.”He claims Dunleavy has been “defrauded” by Sterling.
