THE PUNCH: FORMER UNIVERESITY OF OREGON RUNNING BACK LEGARRETTE BLOUNT UNLOADS ON LINEBACKER BYRON HOUT FOLLOWING LAST YEAR’S LOSS TO BOISE STATE
Running back LeGarrette Blount is known primarily for one thing. Punching people in the face.
During last year’s college football season opener, Blount punched a Boise State player in the face following the Ducks embarrassing loss on ESPN. That punch cost Blount virtually the entire 2009 season as he was suspended by Oregon coach Chip Kelly. It also seriously cost him in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Blount, who is now a rookie free agent trying to make the Tennessee Titans roster, made news again last week by punching a teammate in the face during practice. Now, the blog SPORTSbyBROOKS and Portland Oregonian columnist John Canzano are both reporting that Blount once hit legendary Oregon coach Mike Bellotti in the face while going after a teammate in yet another skirmish.
