Wow!
You know you have a novice football program when they almost kill the head coach trying to give him a Gatorade shower following the program’s first-ever victory.
67-year-old former Georgia coach Bill Curry was knocked to the ground by his own exubarant Georgia State players following Thursday’s win over Shorter College. In a not-so-humorous side note, that’s exactly how legendary football coach George Allen died. His Long Beach State players drenched the former Redskins and Rams coach with Gatorade following a 1990 season ending victory over UNLV. Allen caught pnuemonia from the late November drenching and died at the age of 72.

Shock journalism at it’s best. Overblown on the falling down. Was a tremendous start for a new program.
