ALBERT HAYNESWORTH: WORST PLAYING OF THE RACE CARD THIS CENTURY

September 26, 2010

Beleaguered Washington Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth is on his way to being the most despised player in franchise history. After warring with new Redskins coach Mike Shanahan since his hiring, Haynesworth just played the race card.

Describing his treatment by the clubin a radio interview, Haynesworth says he refuses to be treated like a “slave.” A slave who makes over $100 million. According to Haynesworth, just because he has a HUGE contract “that don’t mean I’m for sale or a slave.”

AROLDIS CHAPMAN

Brilliant young rookie pitcher Aroldis Chapman of the Cincinnatti Reds set a Major League record Friday night when one of his pitches was clocked at 105 miles-per-hour. That’s the fastest pitch ever recorded in big league history.

The 105 MPH pitch was no fluke. Chapman hit 105 in the minors a month ago.

ANDREW BYNUM ONCE AGAIN UNDER FIRE FOR PARTYING

ANDREW BYNUM: STILL IMMATURE

Bill Plaschke of the L.A. Times has a brutal piece today on Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum. Bynum refused to have offseason knee surgery so that he could party at the World Cup soccer tournament in South Africa.

Now Bynum will have to have a procedure on the knee and may miss six to eight weeks, including most of November. That would leave the Lakers with 37-year-old journeyman Theo Ratliff as their starting center. Ratliff hasn’t averaged double figures in scoring or rebounding for an entire decade.

Bynum has gotten into trouble on at least two other occassions for not taking injuries seriously. In March of 2009, Bynum was photographed “rehabbing” his knee by carrying a Playboy bunny on his shoulders while attending a party at the Playboy mansion. Bynum was also photographed the previous year boozing at a UCLA frat party while injured.

COLLEGE BOWL OFFICIALS AREN’T JUST EVIL, THEY’RE ALSO CRIMINALS

September 23, 2010

Everybody knows the college football bowl system is corrupt. Here’s the proof.

A political action committee called Playoff PAC is claiming in a report today that several college football bowl officials are abusing tax law by taking excessive salaries and perks while lobbying politicians and claiming tax-exempt status.

Playoff PAC used six lawyers and an accountant, working for free, to scour thousands of pages of documents and tax returns. They plan on filing an IRS complaint against the directors of the Sugar, Orange and Fiesta Bowls.

Playoff PAC points out that Fiesta Bowl director John Junker made over $600,000 last year. (This blog has previously written about how corrupt Junker is.) That average salary of a CEO running a “non-profit” the size of the Fiesta Bowl is $180,000 per-year.

KATY PERRY SEGMENT ON SESAME STREET PULLED FOR TOO MUCH BOOB

September 23, 2010

STRUMPET AND MUPPET

Pointing out that their show is “aimed at preschoolers,” the producers of the PBS show “Sesame Street” have decided to drop an upcoming show featuring singer Katy Perry. The reason? Too much cleavage.

A duet featuring Perry and the muppet Elmo was released on YouTube earlier this week. The video got enough negative reaction that Sesame Street decided to pull the segment.
