Where are the angry mobs when you really need them? In an apparent effort to be stoned to death, a group of hedge fund managers is attempting to throw the biggest, richest party in the history of the world.

Although they claim it’s for charity, the London-based group is charging 80,000 people $159,000 apiece to get into their party at 80 different sites around the world. They are even submitting a Guinness Book claim saying this is the largest party ever. Simon Cowell, Elizabeth Hurley and Uma Thurman are already confirmed as celebrities attending The Global Party.

The party was started by a rich guy named “Fink” as well as a Pakistani prince. Stanley Fink says the party is based on the one thrown by the Phileas Fogg character in the Jules Verne book “Around the World in 80 Days.”

As the Wall Street Journal points out, “If you have to ask, you’re not invited.”

Is this not for charity? I think anything that makes people sit up and hand over cash for a good cause should be applauded. Let the rich party as long as they aim to help people in need; in this case it is for ARK, a children’s charity. Why must we always be so critical of celebrities when they try to do some good?

I Wish I was going to the party. How can I find out about this bash?!

  3. Janey Balfour Says:

I worked for years with children who are under priviledged , do you think they care where the money comes from that helps them. I think The Global Party sounds great and if it helps children, people should SHUT UP!
