How awesome would it be if some college football and BCS officials were actually sent to prison because of the corrupt system that permiates the sport? Think that’s impossible? Think again.
The Attorney General for the state of Utah met yesterday with the Justice Department. The sole reason for that meeting was to discuss pursuing antitrust violations against the Bowl Championship Series.
College Bowl officials have already been revealed to be criminal scumbags and tax cheats thanks to several investigative reports. However, Utah Senator Orrin Hatch may now be going after the BCS over antitrust issues and possibly even their tax exempt status.
Utah politicians are trying to force the BCS to move to a college football playoff system. Hatch may even be willing to work with Democratic President Barrack Obama, who also favors a playoff format, in order to effect change in the current system.
