This could be one of the most boneheaded gaffes in local television sports history. BenMaller.com points out that Los Angeles sportscaster Jim Hill of KCBS decided to do a hockey package following the recent success of the local hockey team. That, of course, would be the NHL’s LOS ANGELES Kings.

Unfortunately, Hill then ran  graphic of the SACRAMENTO Kings. Congratulations to Hill. Not only did he get the wrong team, he couldn’t even manage to get the right sport! The Sacramento Kings are a basketball team in California.

Of course you wouldn’t expect Hill to know anything about the SoCal sports scene. After all, when he’s not appearing in Rocky movies, Hill has only been a Los Angeles sportscaster for 36 YEARS!

Maller (who’s a self-proclaimed “friend” of Hill’s) totally threw the KCBS and Lakers and Dodgers pregame host under the bus by describing the blunder on his nationally-syndicated Fox Sports radio show Friday night/Saturday morning. Maller then posted the now legendary photo on his blog.
