NATE ROBINSON AND HIS CAT MINK COAT
Another celebrity is in trouble with PETA. The animal rights group has contacted Boston Celtics guard Nate Robinson asking him to give up his Christmas present from teammate Shaquille O’Neal-a full length fur coat made of “cat mink.”
That’s right, Robinson’s coat is made entirely out of a special breed of dead cats.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m completely in favor of people NOT buying Justin Bieber albums and CDs but…
The people who oppose a “Ground Zero Mosque” have added teen pop sensation Justin Bieber to the list of celebrities that they are boycotting. One group has even highlighted Bieber on its celebrity boycott page on Facebook.
How has Bieber incurred the wrath of the anti-Muslim groups? The Canadian singer apparently blasted American “intolerance” in an interview with Tiger Beat magazine and came out in favor of a Ground Zero Mosque. One appalled construction worker, who is opposed to the Park51 project in New York, even gave a tv interview where he described how his young children ripped their Justin Bieber posters off the wall and tore them to pieces.
Given that Bieber is a pre-packaged selling machine who has no opinions or deep thoughts on ANYTHING, a skeptical writer at Salon.com named Justin Elliott decided to actually track down the offending Tiger Beat article. It turns out there’s no such interview. There IS a fake Bieber interview on the parody website celebjihad.com.
There’s no doubt that America would be a better country if people bought less Justin Bieber records. However, NOT for this reason. Bieber is being targeted for something he never said. The quotes are from a PARODY site. Tiger Beat has even confirmed that Bieber never gave them an interview regarding a Mosque at the 9/11 Ground Zero location.
Players from the Baltimore Ravens are drawing scorn and ridicule after voting wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth the team’s “courage” award. Stallworth struck and killed a man last year while driving drunk. He didn’t play in 2009 after being suspended by the NFL.
Ravens players chose Stallworth as the 2010 Ed Block Courage Award winner. Although it’s not like the Ravens aren’t used to having a guy around who has been implicated in someone’s death, Stallworth’s winning of the award is particularly galling. The only “courage” Stallworth exhibited was his abilty to buy his way out of jail with a multi-million dollar settlement with the victim’s family.
THE FRONT END OF STALLWORTH’S BENTLEY AFTER HE STRUCK AND KILLED A MAN WHILE DRIVING DRUNK
Garrett Wittels of Florida International is one of the biggest stars in college baseball. He concluded last season with a 56-game hitting streak. That streak is still ongoing and Wittels may add to it. If he doesn’t go to prison.
Wittels has been charged with rape in the Bahamas following an incident at the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. Wittels and four of his high school buddies allegedly raped two 17-year-old girls. The four friends were charged as well.
Here are some of the facts in the case:
* Wittels apparently had sex with both girls.
* One of the girls was so intoxicated that she threw up all over herself (on a security camera) and had to change shirts.
* Wittels defense lawyer is making a huge deal out of the fact that the two girls were making out with each other at the bar (also on camera).
Wittels defense team and his father have done several interviews portraying the young girls he had sex with as sluts. Wittels’ father also says the charges were brought by one of the girls’ angry father and that all the sex was consensual.
MICHAEL VICK MUST DIE
Fox News didn’t exactly give Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick the “fair and balanced” treatment on Tuesday. Substituting for Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson stated that he thought Vick “should have been executed” for his treatment of dogs.
In addition to Carlson’s call for Vick’s death, Megyn Kelly of Fox News had a guest on her show who categorically stated it is only a matter of time until Vick starts killing people.
IF ONLY FLOYD WERE AS TOUGH ON MANNY PACQUIAO AS HE IS WTH SECURITY GUARDS
At least this time there weren’t any punches thrown.
Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. had yet another run-in with a Las Vegas security guard earlier this month. Unfortunately for him, the entire incident was caught on tape. That tape was recently purchased by TMZ.com which aired it online.
In the tape, TMZ describes Mayweather as unleasing a “nuclear verbal attack” on his subdivision’s security guard. The hapless guard asks Mayweather for his ID as he pulls up to a security gate. Mayweather responds with a clasically profane “do-you-know-who-I-am?”
“DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?”
