REAL ESTATE TYCOON/FORMER NBA SCRUB MATT GEIGER
For a guy who lists his current occupation as “real estate investor,” former NBA player Matt Geiger isn’t doing such a terrific job. Geiger recently sold his Florida mansion for just under $10 million. The problem is he paid $20 million for it.
Geiger’s house has been described as “the ultimate bachelor pad.” Among the features of the 28,000 square foot palace-40 rooms with televisions (18 of them hooked up to x-boxes), a 30,000 gallon swimming pool, DJ room, pizza oven, cigar room, rock diving cliff, and a giant shark tank.
Geiger’s mansion was reportedly the highest ascessed piece of property in Pinellas County. He paid $177,000 a year in property taxes. Geiger, averaged less than 10 points-per-game in his NBA career, had a “palace” that was so sprawling he was able to keep herds of bison and watusi cattle on it.
Now married, Geiger decided to sell the home, in part to pay off the more than quarter of a million dollars he owes in back taxes. Still, he’ll always have the memories:
