The Kansas City Royals are being sued by one of their baseball fans over an errant hot dog toss. The man claims he suffered a detached retina in 2009 when the Royals mascot “Slugger” beaned him in the face with a hot dog wrapped in aluminum foil.
John Coomer apparently withstood the hot dogs being shot into the stands by an air gun. Unfortunately, Slugger bounced a dog off Coomer’s noggin while attempting a behind-the-back toss. Coomer is seeking $25,000. The Royals are looking for a new Slugger.
