The UFC has a new light heavyweight champion as Jon “Bones” Jones beat Shogun Rua last night at UFC 128 in Newark, New Jersey. Jones slaughtered Rua and at 23, he becomes the youngest champion in the history of The Ultimate Fighting Championship. Jones actually entered the Octagon a 2/1 betting favorite against Rua. Jones now faces his “best friend and training partner” Rashad Evans in his first title defense.
Other UFC 128 winners included Brendan Schaub (who defeated MMA legend CroCop Filipovic), Edson Barboza, Urijah Faber, Nate Marquardt, Mike Pyle and Dan Miller.
