Pacquiao Robbed

June 10, 2012

MANNY PACQUIAO PUT TIMOTHY BRADLEY IN A WHEELCHAIR SATURDAY-BUT WAS DEEMED THE LOSER OF THE FIGHT

It may turn out to be one of the most controversial decisions in boxing history. Saturday night at the MGM Grand hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Manny Pacquiao lost a split decision to Timothy Bradley for the WBO Welterweight title. As ESPN put it, it was the boxing judges who “shocked the world.” Pacquiao lost the decision despite landing almost 100 more punches 253-159 (according to CompuBox.) Pacquaio also landed the harder punches and was the fight’s aggressor throwing far more blows and landing more in ten of the 12 rounds.

Pacquiao had not lost a fight since 2005. That’s a remarkable seven-year winning streak. However, many veteran boxing journalists who were ringside were shocked by the decision. Dan Rafael of ESPN flat out stated that Bradley “did not win this fight.” Rafael says he actually had the fight scored 11 rounds to 1 in favor of Pacquiao. Veteran tv ring announcer Harold Lederman also scored the fight 11 rounds to one for Pacquiao. The Associated Press had Manny Pacquiao winning the fight 117-111.

None of that mattered to the judges. Las Vegas boxing writer Kevin Iole called the decision of a Bradley win “a joke” but argues it may actually be good for boxing. Pacquiao nemesis Floyd Mayweather Jr. missed the fight. He’s serving time in jail on domestic violence charges.

Pacquiao promoter Bob Arum, who’s committed his share of boxing ethical atrocities, proclaimed himself to be “ashamed” of the sport and the decision, yet stands to benefit financially from a Pacquiao/Bradley rematch.

Chicken De La Mayweather

May 7, 2012

Following what was arguably the biggest win of his career, boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. STILL refuses to step into the ring with Manny Pacquiao.  Despite an impressive decision over Miguel Cotto Saturday, told the LA Times a Mayweather/Pacquiao fight “is not going to happen.” Mayweather also added, “I don’t have to fight if I don’t want to.”

Another Oscar De La Hoya-in-womens-underwear lawsuit

November 22, 2011

Former boxer Oscar De La Hoya has already come clean and admitted to drug and alcohol addiction.

Now, a former Maxim and Playboy model is accusing De La Hoya of sticking her with a hotel bill following an evening of kinky sex and cocaine use. Angelica Marie Cecora says De La Hoya “went crazy” with cocaine and sex toys during a “drug-fueled sex party” at an expensive NewYork hotel with her and her hot Russian roommate.

Page Six of the New York Post has the awesome details of De La Hoya begging the woman to insert cocaine up his butt in a piece entitled, “Nose not enough for Oscar.” The model also details Oscar’s fetish for trying on her panties and skirt.

Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s toughest opponent: 80-year-old Larry Merchant

September 19, 2011

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is an ass clown. After spending his entire career ducking quality fighters in general, and Manny Pacquiao in particular, the boxer finally found someone he was comfortable taking on. HBO’s 80-year-old boxing announcer, Larry Merchant.

Mayweather Jr. won Saturday night’s controversial fight against Victor Ortiz with an amazingly cheap (but arguably legal) shot. The fight was stopped in the 4th round following a head butt by Ortiz. After the stoppage, Ortiz came up to apologize to Mayweather, literally hugging and kissing him. After the bell rang to resume action, Ortiz tried to hug Mayweather Jr. again. He responded by knocking Ortiz’s ass out. The shot came so quickly that the referee wasn’t even looking. He literally never saw the shot that knocked Ortiz out. It was one of the most controversial ending to a major fight in years.

In the post-fight interview, Merchant asks Mayweather Jr. about the controversial ending. Mayweather rightly points out that fighters need to be ready “at all times.” Besides, the fight was only stopped because of poor sportsmanship by Ortiz. Mayweather then abruptly breaks off the interview telling Merchant, “You never give me a fair shake.”

The interview digresses from there with Mayweather Jr. screaming that HBO should fire Merchant. It climaxes with Merchant yelling, “If I was 50 years younger I’d kick your ass!”

Canseco brothers make run at Stupid Hall of Fame

March 30, 2011

Unfortunately for former Major League Baseball slugger Jose Canseco, his life continues to be a failed sitcom or reality tv show. This weekend, Canseco made news when he attempted to send his twin brother to fight in his place at a celebrity boxing match in Florida. The plot was discovered at the weigh-in when the promoter of the event noticed Ozzie Canseco wasn’t sporting the arm tattoo present on his twin brother, Jose. Busted!

The only thing more ridiculous than Jose Canseco’s life is Taiwanese animators attempt to recreate it:

The failed switheroo has once again made Canseco a national punchline. You know you’re a scumbag when boxing promoters question your integrity. The Miami Herald now has photos of a tattooless Ozzie Canseco at the boxing event over the weekend. Plus, here’s Jose Canseco’s very latest hilarious Twitter entry posted less than an hour ago:

CANSECO BROTHERS IN THEIR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

IDIOT BROTHER # 1: JOSE-WITH ARM TAT

IDIOT BROTHER #2: OZZIE POSES WITH CELEBRITY CORNERMAN AND FELLOW SCUMBAG MICHAEL LOHAN. NOTICE NO ARM TAT,

Why in the hell is Roy Jones Jr. still fighting?

Roy Jones Jr. used to be one of the most recognized and feared boxers in the world. Now, he’s a joke.

As late as 2004, Jones was 49-1. The only loss was on a DQ where he knocked the other guy out. Unfortunately, Jones has lost SIX fights since then. He is now 42 and was beaten by fellow old guy Bernard Hopkins last year. Before that he was embarrassed in a complete debacle by a no-name fighter in Australia with a first round knockout.

Still, there is someone in the world still willing to pay Jones money to box. He is fighting in Russia in May.

ARUM SQUELCHES PACQUIAO RETIREMENT RUMORS

January 17, 2011

MANNY PACQUIAO

Promoter Bob Arum told boxingscene.com that superstar fighter Manny Pacquiao will step into the ring at least six more times and won’t retire until 2013.

Pacquiao fights Shane Mosley in March and is expected to fight again in September or October of 2011. After that, Arum says Pacquiao will fight two times in 2012 and twice more in 2013. Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather continues to duck Pacquiao.

FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR. CONTINUES HIS WAR WITH VEGAS SECURITY GUARDS

December 29, 2010

IF ONLY FLOYD WERE AS TOUGH ON MANNY PACQUIAO AS HE IS WTH SECURITY GUARDS

At least this time there weren’t any punches thrown.

Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. had yet another run-in with a Las Vegas security guard earlier this month. Unfortunately for him, the entire incident was caught on tape. That tape was recently purchased by TMZ.com which aired it online.

In the tape, TMZ describes Mayweather as unleasing a “nuclear verbal attack” on his subdivision’s security guard. The hapless guard asks Mayweather for his ID as he pulls up to a security gate. Mayweather responds with a clasically profane “do-you-know-who-I-am?”

WIKILEAKS STORY ACCUSES MAYORGA OF RAPE

December 14, 2010

RICARDO MAYORGA

Ricardo Mayorga is one of the world’s most colorful boxers. Following a two-year layoff, he makes his return to the ring this week in a Don King production, taking on Michael Walker in Miami.

Prior to getting his ass kicked by Manny Pacquiao, Mayorga was best known for his unique smoking-while-training workout regimen.

Now, with the release of of Wikileaks material, Mayorga has been revealed as an accused rapist who was used as a puppet by the Nicaraguan government.

The website SPORTSbyBROOKS reveals that Wikileaks documents show Mayorga was once accused of raping a young woman and only got off after being “blackmailed” by the government of Nicaragua. Mayorga supposedly agreed to give the majority of his career boxing earnings to Daniel Ortega’s government and publicly say only positive, pro-communist things about the FSLN government. In exchange, Mayorga was found “innocent” of rape charges.
