A-ROD REAFFIRMS HIS DOUCHINESS

February 9, 2011

Alex Rodriguez is pissed. The New York Yankees star was shown getting fed popcorn by his actress girlfriend Cameron Diaz during a Super Bowl cutaway on Fox.

Apparently, A-Rod thought the popcorn shot by Fox Sports was a deliberate attempt to catch him in a “paparazzi moment.” Numerous newspaper articles and blog posts have pointed out that theory is nonsense. However, that didn’t stop A-Rod from “going ballistic” over the shot.

JOSE CANSECO OFFERS TO BEAT THE HELL OUT OF A-ROD

JOSE CANSECO

Although most of his detractors have faded with a World Series ring, Alex Rodriguez still has at least one critic. Former Major League Baseball slugger Jose Canseco still hates A-Rod. Canseco was the first person ever to accuse Rodriguez of steroid use. Those allegations turned out to be true. Canseco also accused A-Rod of trying to sleep with his wife in his autobiography.

Still, A-Rod is more popular than ever while Canseco is forced to eek out a living fighting in ridiculous freak shows like the one in Massachusetts this weekend. Canseco boxed in a “celebrity boxing” match against some no-name on the same card as famed cop-beating victim Rodney King. Canseco appears bitter.

In a prefight interview for his fight, Canseco said he would love to beat up Rodriguez, who he called a “lying little idiot.” Canseco said, “I’ll beat him to a pulp.”

Big talk from a guy who fought to  a draw with former child star Danny Bonaduce.

ALEX RODRIGUEZ

New York Yankees star third baseman Alex Rodriguez is fresh off the greatest two rounds of clutch hitting in Major League Baseball playoff history. He virtually single-handedly put the Yankees into the World Series.

How soon they forget.

The West Palm Beach Post chose today to run a video of Rodriguez making the game-losing error in the 1993 state championship baseball game. The paper even has an interview with some guy who’s now an insurance salesman talking about how he stuck it to A-Rod and his Miami-Westminster Christian team. Of course, the entire tone of the article is to imply what a choker Rodriguez  is.

Contrast that to the British tabloids, one of which today has a feature of how GREAT A-Rod is in bed and how much he’s pleasuring actress Kate Hudson:

*Jul 25 - 00:05*

Of course, the guy still can’t buy a break in the American press. Rodriguez is 0-8 in the first two games of the World Series, prompting a spate of negative stories and headlines like:

“K-Rod? Alex fans thrice more” (That’s on the Major League Baseball website!)

“Alex Rodriguez not worried about early World Series slump” (Star-Ledger)

“Yankees’ Rodriguez Is Still Searching for First World Series Hit” (New York Times)

“Howard and Rodriguez not exactly cleaning up” (Philadelphia Daily News)

“A-Rod down, but Teixeira, Matsui pick him up” (Newsday)

“Kate Hudson Gloomy-Looking as A-Rod Strikes Out” (US Magazine)

“A-Rod of Old Has Returned” (Fanhouse)

“Yanks, A-Rod must step it up” (New York Post)

Keep in mind, this is all following a Yankees WIN. Hell, the New York media was kinder to longtime nemesis Pedro Martinez!

A-ROD NOW BEING HAILED AS “THE NEW MR. OCTOBER”

October 18, 2009

A-ROD DOES IT AGAIN

Holy crap! That was quick.

Following his game-tying home run in Game Two of the ALCS last night, New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has transformed his image and reputation as quickly and thoroughly as anyone in the history of sports. Coming into this season, A-Rod was known as a “choker.” One of the worst postseason performers in sports. A loser. Thousands of hours were spent on sports talk radio discussing how Alex Rodriguez would NEVER win the big one. Millions of words were written and read about whether or not Rodriguez was a “real Yankee.” Now, all of the multitudes of A-Rod doubters look like complete and utter fools.

In a 10-day run starting last Wednesday, Alex Rodriguez has done no less than put together the most monstrous streak of late inning clutch hitting in baseball postseason history. He has hit three late game-tying homers, each more memorable than the last. Last Friday, in Game Two of the American League Division Series against the Minnesota Twins, Rodriguez hit a dramatic ninth inning home run to send the game into extra innings. New York ended up winning the game 4-3. Then, in the very next game, A-Rod crushed a game-tying homer off former Yankee Carl Pavano. The ball landed in the top row of the football bleachers in right field. The Yankees eventually won that game to sweep the Twins.

However, last night was the whipped cream and cherry on top of this year’s Yankees playoff ice cream. A-Rod came to the plate in the 11th inning with the Yankees trailing the Los Angeles Angels by a run. He proceeded to launch a game-tying homer off Angels closer Brian Fuentes. Yankee fans went nuts. It may be the exact moment that they finally embraced A-Rod and took him into their hearts and minds as one of their own. New York won the game in the 13th inning. All thanks to Rodriguez. That’s right, Alex Rodriguez is now freakin’ LOVED by Yankees fans. It’s an amazing transformation in a year that began with a steroids controversy and the worst injury of Rodriguez’s career.

In 2009, the Yankees have played five playoff games. Thanks to A-Rod, they are 5-0. In those five games, Rodriguez is hitting .368. His slugging percentage is .842. His OPS is over a thousand. In fact, it’s a mindboggling 1.251.

Those are sick, sick, CRAZY numbers. However, more than just stats is the way that A-Rod has absolutely dominated this postseason. Keep in mind this is the same guy who was tagged as the poster boy for the Yankees postseason failures in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The Yankees were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs in all three seasons. Rodriguez hit a combined .159 in those series. Hell, last year, for the first time in 14 seasons, the Yankees didn’t even MAKE the playoffs. Everybody blamed A-Rod.

That’s all in the past. We now live in a brave new world. A parallel universe where Alex Rodriguez is a playoff HERO.The most shocking pieces of evidence for this now come from the same media that had previously torched and villified Rodriguez. Yahoo! Sports actually ran a headline asking if Alex Rodriguez was the “New Mr. October.”

A-Rod has also finally and officially won over the New York tabloids. The same newspaper that previously ran this cover:

ALEX RODRIGUEZ

As noted on Deadspin.com, the magazine In Touch Weekly is reporting that actress Kate Hudson wants to be impregnated by New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez. Hudson reportedly wants a sibling for her 5-year-old son, Ryder, and believes she and A-Rod would “make a beautiful baby together.”

Hudson reportedly has offered to “assume all financial responsibility” for the  child if A-Rod gets her pregnant.

SELENA ROBERTS’ BOOK ON A-ROD IS OFFICIALLY A FLOP

Selena Roberts’ book on Alex Rodriguez was rushed to publication this spring following revelations of the embattled New York Yankees third baseman’s previous steroid use.

Unfortunately, the controversy hasn’t exactly translated into booming book sales. The tell-all A-Rod book has been a publishing disaster for Harper Collins. “A-Rod: The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez” had an initial first printing of 150,000 copies. To date only 16,000 copies of the book have been sold.

The Rizzoli book store in midtown Manhattan has reported selling a grand total of two copies of the book. Posman Books in grand Central Station reportedly hasn’t sold a single copy of the book in the last two weeks.

As of yesterday, Roberts’ A-Rod book was number 2,904 on the Amazon.com bestsellers list.
