THE NFL HATES SMART PEOPLE

March 7, 2010

MYRON ROLLE TACKLES TIM TEBOW

Chris Brown of the website Smartfootball.com put it perfectly-NFL teams claim they want smart players with good character. Just not TOO smart. Brown details the Myron Rolle case which is a complete travesty and and one of the biggest embarrassments in the history of the National Football League.

Rolle was the highest ranked high school player in the country in 2006. He signed with Florida State where he became an All-American safety. Famed Seminoles defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews called Rolle the “best and most complete” safety he’s ever coached. Rolle had a 3.75 GPA and graduated from college in just 2 and 1/2 years.

Unfortunately, Rolle’s stock in the NFL Draft is apparently plummeting. Last season, following his early graduation, Rolle was named a Rhodes Scholar. He spent 2009 studying Pre-Med at Oxford. NFL teams are universally holding Rolle’s Rhodes Scholarship against him. At the combine, Rolle was interviewed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (a team filled with terrible football players many of whom are stupid AND have bad character.) According to Smartfootball.com, one of the first questions Tampa Bat asked Rolle was, “Why did you abandon your teammates? (to take a Rhodes Scholarsip.)”

Unbelievable. NFL teams are now questioning Rolle’s dedication to football even though he has returned to America and given up his studies and a guaranteed career as a doctor in order to play in the NFL. Apparently, teams are now questioning Rolle’s “committment.” Rolle has been projected as a “final day” late round pick.

Rolle has hired Tom Shaw as a personal trainer. Shaw has trained 118 former first round picks including players from Deion Sanders to Peyton Manning to Chris Johnson. He has coached the last NINE Super Bowl MVPs. Shaw RAVES about Rolle.

TIM TEBOW THROWS FOR THREE TOUCHDOWNS AND RUNS IN TWO MORE IN VICTORY OVER FLORIDA STATE

Tim Tebow may just win a second Heisman Trophy after all.

Playing in the final regular season game of his career, the Florida quarterback accounted for five touchdowns in a 37-10 victory over arch rival Florida State. A record crowd of more than 90,000 attended Senior Day in Gainesville. Tebow completed 17 of 21 passes and may have finally pushed Seminoles coach Bobby Bowden into retirement.

According to the Miami Herald,Bowden “acknowledeged for the first time” that he may not return as the Florida State coach next season. The Seminoles finished 6-6 this season. At his post game press conference, Bowden admitted he would do some “soul searching” about his future.

HAS BOBBY BOWDEN COACHED HIS FINAL GAME?

The NCAA ruled Friday that Florida State University knowingly committed “academic fraud” from 2006-2008. FSU athletes (including football as well as mens and womens basketball players) were given the answers to online tests by a university employee.

The NCAA Committee on Infractions ruled Florida State committed “major violations.” The school will be placed on four years probation, lose scholarships, and have to face being stripped of an undetermined amount of wins including all of the football team’s 2007 victories.
