TIM TEBOW HUMILIATES BOWDEN

November 29, 2009

TIM TEBOW THROWS FOR THREE TOUCHDOWNS AND RUNS IN TWO MORE IN VICTORY OVER FLORIDA STATE

Tim Tebow may just win a second Heisman Trophy after all.

Playing in the final regular season game of his career, the Florida quarterback accounted for five touchdowns in a 37-10 victory over arch rival Florida State. A record crowd of more than 90,000 attended Senior Day in Gainesville. Tebow completed 17 of 21 passes and may have finally pushed Seminoles coach Bobby Bowden into retirement.

According to the Miami Herald,Bowden “acknowledeged for the first time” that he may not return as the Florida State coach next season. The Seminoles finished 6-6 this season. At his post game press conference, Bowden admitted he would do some “soul searching” about his future.

HAS BOBBY BOWDEN COACHED HIS FINAL GAME?

POTENTIAL BCS DISASTER UNFOLDS

October 12, 2009

Quarterback Tim Tebow #15 of the Florida Gators dives for more yardage over Kareem Jackson #3 and Rashad Johnson #49 of the Alabama Crimson Tide during the SEC Championship on December 6, 2008 at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia.

Fanhouse.com raises the possibility of an all-SEC BCS Championship Game in a college football column today. Florida and Alabama are currently the #1 and #2 ranked teams in the country. Both teams are currently undefeated. The Tide and Gators won’t face each other in the regular season. They could very well meet in the conference’s Championship Game with Florida coming out of the SEC East and Alabama the West.

However, it’s possible that even with one (or even two) losses, both teams could be re-matched in the BCS Championship Game. That would be a nightmare scenario for the BCS-the exact two teams playing each other 33 days after a completely meaningless SEC Championship Game.

Fanhouse points out that Florida has won two national championships despite having a loss in each of those seasons BEFORE the title game. Another SEC team (LSU) was placed in the BCS title game in 2007 despite having two losses. Fanhouse also points out how unlikely it would be for a team like Boise State being placed in a national championship game-even if they go undefeated. They even point out another possible disaster BCS scenario. If Oregon beats USC on Halloween, they could very well be placed in the BCS championship. Over undefeated Boise State. This despite the fact that Boise State absolutely pummeled Oregon in their season opener earlier this year.

Still think college football doesn’t need a playoff system?

GQ ASKS, “DOES GOD HAVE A TIM TEBOW COMPLEX?”

August 19, 2009

TIM TEBOW

This month’s GQ magazine has an interesting premise. It asks the question, “Does God have a Tim Tebow complex?”

Tebow, who won the Heisman Trophy as a sophomore, is trying to lead the University of Florida to their third national championship in  four seasons. GQ points out that despite all his on-field accomplishments and accolades like a Wall Street Journal piece entitled, “Is Tim Tebow the best college football player of all time?” the young quarterback has his doubters. Particularly NFL scouts.

The article’s author, Jason Fagone, also points out that he himself was undecided about Tebow. Fagone says, “Tebow’s confidence is so deep, so profound that it’s hard to get a read on.” Fagone was unsure whether that confidence sprang from “arrogance” or “ignorance.” He then procedes to ask Tebow a series of questions about God:

“What do you pray for when you pray?”

“Is God present during football games?”

Fagone then talks to the Florida quarterback about reading the Bible to children in the womb and concludes he “doesn’t think” Tebow is “slow-witted.”

Finally, Fagone has photographer Mark Seliger shoot Tebow wearing eyeblack with the Bible passages John 3:16 outlined. The article is not your standard sports interview.

TIM TEBOW OVERCOMING TEMPTATION YET AGAIN

There are 800 media credentialed and 25 radio shows broadcasting live from SEC media days this week. That’s right, SEC football is so big that they have THREE media days, not one.

What’s the number one question on the minds of all those assembled? Fanhouse.com asks the burning question today, “Is Tim Tebow still a virgin?”

The Florida quarterback, who has won national championships and a Heisman Trophy, is a devout Baptist. Fanhouse isn’t the only organization concerned about Tebow’s sex life. Numerous chatrooms have also touched on the subject. It’s also a topic on Twitter and the Miami Herald’s gay blog. You can even vote in a poll on Tebow’s virginity.
