Boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has been suspended seven months and fined $10,000 by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after testing positive for a performance enhancing drug. Chavez did not take steroids. He tested positive for a banned diuretic he apparently used to lose weight.

Despite being embarrassed in his fight with Manny Pacquiao last month, Fightnews.com is reporting that negotiations will soon begin for boxer Oscar De La Hoya to take on Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. De La Hoya beat Chavez’s father in 1996 and 1998.
Ring magazine also did a recent piece about five possible opponents in De La Hoya’s future. That publication is now owned by De La Hoya.
