NATE ROBINSON: GETS HIS ASS CHEWED BY KNICKS COACH MIKE D’ANTONI

Saturday afternoon’s NBA matchup between the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets wasn’t exactly a classic to begin with. Coming into the game, the Knicks were 2-9. The pathetic Nets were 0-12.

With 0.5 seconds left in the first quarter, Knicks guard Nate Robinson took the inbounds pass and casually launched a 30-footer. Straight into the Nets basket. Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni went insane and berated Robinson as he came off the floor. In fairness, time had already expired before the shot. Robinson was just screwing around, but it was too close be messing around like that. WAY too close.

A furious D’Antoni benched Robinson for the rest of the game.

MIKE D’ANTONI

The good news for New York Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni is that his team won their season debut with a 120-115 victory over the Miami Heat at the Garden. Having a winning record even for one day already makes this a more successful team than last year’s Knicks. Unbelievably, D’Antoni STILL managed to get into trouble.

MSG Network cameras caught D’Antoni mouthing curses at Knicks fans when a few of them began chanting for exiled guard Stephon Marbury to be inserted into the game. Cameras spotted D’Antoni who said,

“You’ve got to be (bleeping) kidding me. You’ve got to be (bleeping) kidding me. What a bunch of (bleep) holes.”

Naturally, the always helpful New York Post was right there to chime in on the story:
