TOM BRADY HAS A RECORD-SETTING GAME IN THE SNOW ON SUNDAY

Sunday morning, the NFL Network spent an entire segment discussing the topic, “What’s wrong with Tom Brady?” A panel including Michael Irvin, Warren Sapp and Steve Mariucci then threw out their opinions of why the New England Patriots quarterback was just a shell of his former self coming back after missing virtually all of last season with an injury.

Oops!

Brady then went out and had arguably the greatest game of his already spectacular career. Behind Brady, the Patriots delvered a 59-0 ass-kicking to the still winless Tennessee Titans. That ties the record for the biggest post-merger blowout in NFL history. Brady completed 29 of 34 passes for 380 yards. He also had six touchdowns, tying his own club record. The Patriots were up 49-0 at the half. That was the largest halftime lead in league history. Brady also set a record with five td passes in the second quarter alone. His record-setting game now puts Brady on the same pace as 2007-the year he threw a record 50 touchdown passes.

Aparrently, the answer to “What’s wrong with Tom Brady?” is NOTHING.

AL DAVIS CONTINUES TO COLLECT SHINY OBJECTS, RUIN FOOTBALL TEAM

RICHARD SEYMOUR

It’s been just one day since the Oakland Raiders screwed their season, cutting Jeff Garcia and leaving themselves with only a punchline and a potential game fixer as their only backup quarterbacks to JaMarcus Russell. Senile Raiders owner Al Davis was roundly criticized for the insane Garcia move. Sunday, he rebounded by trading for longtime New England Patriots defensive star Richard Seymour.

Unfortunately, Seymour hasn’t won a Super Bowl since 2004 or even been been an All-Pro since 2006. In football terms, that’s a lifetime ago. It’s not like the Patriots are fools. If they thought Seymour had any quality football left in him, they never would have traded a guy who was once considered the best defensive tackle in football. Those days are long gone. Seymour didn’t even make the Pro Bowl last season or the one before.

ROOKIE FREE AGENT IS BRADY’S SOLE BACKUP

BRIAN HOYER

Apparently the New England Patriots really DO believe quarterback Tom Brady is healthy. The Patriots have reportedly cut former Raiders qb Andrew Walter. That leaves undrafted rookie free agent Brian Hoyer as the only backup quarterback to Brady on the Patriots roster.

Hoyer played quarterback for Michigan State last season. He was not chosen in the 2009 NFL Draft. Hoyer took every snap in the Patriots final preseason game against the New York Giants last night.

The Patriots have let go every quarterback who was on their roster last season after Brady injured the ACL and MCL on his left knee in New England’s first game. Matt Cassell, Kevin O’Connell, and Matt Gutierrez are all gone.

Former New England Patriots star running back John Stephens was killed Tuesday in a car accident. He was 43.

Stephens was a Pro Bowl running back and 1,000 yard rusher for the Patriots. He was named the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1988.

PATRIOTS ONLINE POLL ACTUALLY ASKS FANS: “T.O. OR N-O?”

Sometimes you can read something and still not fully believe it until you see it with your own eyes. Such was the case Friday night.

Awful Announcing ran a story that the New England Patriots were actually running a poll on www.patriots.com asking their fans whether or not it would be a good idea to sign free agent/basket case wide receiver Terrell Owens. Unbelievable!!! Yet, sure enough, if you go to Patriots.com and click on the “Debate Friday” section, there is actually a poll where you can vote thumbs up or thumbs down on T.O.

The voting was a lot closer than you might think. The same city that ran two-time World Champion Manny Ramirez out of town was rejecting T.O. at last check- but only by a 53% to 47% margin.

Apparently there are only three teams even considering signing Owens, the Raiders (conflicting reports), Titans (rumors of a T.O, sighting at the Nashville airport but the club denying any interest) and SHOCKINGLY the Patriots. Apparently the thought of a healthy Tom Brady throwing to Randy Moss, Terrell Owens and Wes Welker is enough for the Pats to at least consider the move.

WES WELKER MAKING A SNOW ANGEL IN SUNDAY’S GAME

The officials in the front office of the National Football League are such Nazis they just fined New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker $10,000 for making a snow angel following a touchdown in Sunday’s win over Arizona.

An NFL spokesman (something “Himmler”) described Welker’s actions of making a snow angel in the endzone as “unsportsmanlike conduct” and “unsportsmanlike conduct.”
