A.J. FEELEY IS AN NFL STARTING QUARTERBACK

June 24, 2010

A.J. FEELEY

The NFL’s St. Louis Rams continue to insist they will not rush #1 draft pick Sam Bradford. The Oklahoma quarterback was th first player chosen in this year’s NFL Draft. However, that does not assure Bradford of being the Rams qb when the season opens.

In fact, Rams coach Steve Spagnoulo is already insisting that veteran retread A.J. Feeley is the Rams starting quarterback “for now.”

IRONY: FIRST ST. LOUIS RAMS DISS RUSH LIMBAUGH, NOW PURSUE DONOVAN MCNABB

DONOVAN MCNABB’S REACTION TO THE POSSIBILITY OF WORKING FOR RUSH LIMBAUGH IN ST. LOUIS

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh may not be hating life right now, but he probably hates the St. Louis Rams.

First, the Rams and the National Football League rejected Limbaugh’s efforts to buy the club. Next, the Rams are sold to some dude from Pakistan. Now, the Rams are reportedly in “intense conversations” to acquire Limbaugh’s arch-enemy, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. Limbaugh’s racially charged comments about McNabb got him fired as an NFL commentator by ESPN.

RAMS STAR RUNNING BACK BEATS VERY PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND

Supriya Harris scar from alleged attack by Steven Jackson

PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE FROM TMZ THAT RAMS RUNNING BACK STEVEN JACKSON BEAT HIS 9 MONTH PREGNANT GIRLFRIEND

Professional athletes are SCREWED.

Things are never going to be the same now that TMZ has announced that they are launching an entire website devoted to covering athletes. That means that professional athletes are going to be subjected to the same full time scrutiny by the gossip sites that celebrities are.

No more free passes to adulterous athletes. Or ones that beat women.

TMZ.com ran a story about St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson this week. In March of 2009, Supriya Harris, the running back’s baby mama, filed a very damning police report against Jackson in Las Vegas. Harris alleges that Jackson beat her while she was 9 months pregnant with his child. Jackson has denied the allegations but the damage to his reputation has already been done.

TMZ ran pictures of  a very pregnant Harris with a scar on her stomach. A scar Harris says she received from Jackson beating her. Now, the story has been picked up by the mainstream sports media. Jackson is not going to be the last athlete hit with this type of story. Stay tuned.

AFRICAN-AMERICAN COLUMNIST CAMPAIGNS AGAINST RUSH LIMBAUGH’S PROPOSED RAMS OWNERSHIP

October 7, 2009

Bryan Burwell

BRYAN BURWELL

St. Louis Post-Dispatch columnist Bryan Burwell says the National Football League should “think twice” before it considers allowing radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh to own a franchise. Limbaugh is reportedly a finalist to be the new owner of the St. Louis Rams.

Burwell flatly states in his Wedneday column that the NFL should bar Limbaugh because he is a racist and he brings up a couple of  on-air quotes by the talk show host to make his case. Limbaugh said,

“Look, let me put it to you this way: The NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.”

Limbaugh also said,

“I mean, let’s face it, we didn’t have slavery in this country for over 100 years because it was a bad thing. Quite the opposite: Slavery built the South. I’m not saying we should bring it back. I’m just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark.”

Seventy percent of NFL players are black. Burwell points out these men are descendants of slaves. He says Limbaugh’s money is green but his words are “colored.” With hate.

Burwell also says he is not campaigning against Limbaugh because of his politics. In fact, Burwell points out Limbaugh’s political views are mainstream in the NFL and, “He would fit right in with the exclusive boys club of ultra-wealthy, ultra-conservative white men who rule the ownership suites.”

RUSH LIMBAUGH TO BUY RAMS?

October 6, 2009

STEELERS FAN RUSH LIMBAUGH LOOKING TO BUY THE ST. LOUIS RAMS?

Can a guy who was too controversial to be a football announcer actually own an NFL franchise?

A local television station is reporting that talk show host Rush Limbaugh is officially one of the bidders who has put together a package to buy the St. Louis Rams. Limbaugh had previously expressed an interest in buying the Rams. He admitted as much to the St. Louis Business Journal this summer. Now he has an actual plan

Limbaugh would team with St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts to buy the team. Checketts is a former NBA executive with the Utah Jazz. He also ran the New York Knicks and later became head of Madison Square Garden.

The Limbaugh/Rams story is gradually picking up attention by the national sports media. Limbaugh was spotted attending a Rams home game last month.

MICHAEL VICK

Until now, there had not been a team specifically linked with former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick. This weekend, the St. Louis Rams apparently sent out some feelers, the first NFL team to be publicly linked with Vick since he got out of prison.

Pro Football Talk has now identified St. Louis now as a “potential Vick landing spot.”

MR. IRRELEVANT TO START FOR RAMS THIS WEEKEND

DAVID VOBORA: “MR. IRRELEVANT”

David Vobora, the last player taken in the 2008 NFL Draft, will start at middle linebacker for the St. Louis Rams this Sunday against Miami. He has spent most of the season on the Rams’ practice squad, but has now worked his way up into the St. Louis starting lineup. Vobora was the 252nd (and final) player taken this year out of the University of Idaho.

For that distinction, Vobora was awarded with the annual “Lowsman Trophy” award and was proclaimed the 33rd “Mr. Irrelevant.” Vobora is the first “Mr. Irrelevant” to start an NFL game in his rookie season since 1994. Newport Beach, CA in Orange County makes a BIG deal about the “Mr. Irrelevant” award every year. They have an entire week based around it. Vobora was given a parade and even got to go to Disneyland.

RAMS O-LINEMAN FINED FOR “VERBALLY ABUSING” REFS

October 18, 2008

RICHIE INCOGNITO

The NFL has fined St. Louis Rams offensive lineman Richie Incognito $35,000 for “verbally abusing” referees during last Sunday’s win over the Washington Redskins.

Incognito allegedly berated officials three different times during the game. Referee Walt Coleman called a 15-yard personal foul penalty on Incognito for yelling at the refs on the Rams final play of the game. That turned a potential 34-yard fild goal into a 49-yarder. Rams kicker Josh Brown hit the game-winning kick anyway.
