Several videos have been leaked of fired Texas Tech coach Mike Leach berating his football team. In the above video, Leach chastizes “some of you God Squad guys” for their lackluster play. Leach ridicules his players who were praying during games and explains how performing poorly on defense is against the Bible because “you’re defying The Book.”

Another video has Leach giving a postgame speech filled with profanity.

YA LOCK A KID WITH A CONCUSSION IN A DARK SHED JUST ONCE…

Coach Mike Leach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

MIKE LEACH

Texas Tech fired head football coach Mike Leach on Wednesday. Leach had originally been suspended by the school for his alleged mistreatment of one of his players, Adam James. James’ father, former SMU star, NFL player and ESPN announcer Craig James, contends that Leach locked his son in a dark shed after the younger James suffered a concussion in practice.

The University had asked Leach to apologize to the James family. Leach refused. Texas Tech then suspended Leach for the upcoming Alamo Bowl. When Leach and his lawyer went to court to get him reinstated for the bowl game, then tried to obtain a court order ordering that reinstatement, the school responded by firing him “for cause.”

The school contends Leach’s behavior towards James was abusive. Leach’s lawyer responded to the allegations of mistreatment today:

GRAHAM HARRELL

So much for the idea of this being a trap game for # 2 Texas Tech.

Texas Tech moved to 10-0 (6-0 in the Big 12) by pounding Oklahoma State Saturday 56-20. Superstar quarterback Graham Harrell completed 40 passes for 456 yards and six touchdowns.

The win firmly establishes Texas Tech as the clear-cut number two in college football this season and puts them in line for a possible BCS championship berth. With Penn State losing to Iowa this weekend, the Red raiders at least control their own destiny. A national championship shot is still a long way off. Tech has to beat Oklahoma AND win the big 12 championship game to get a chance to play for a national championship.
