ED HOCHULI’S SEASON OF DOOM CONTINUES-JOEY PORTER DEMANDS APOLOGY

EASY ED HOCHULI: HAVING WORST SEASON OF ANY REF IN HISTORY

Ed Hochuli continues to have the worst season of any referee in National Football League history. The FIFTH major blown call of the Hochuli crew (in six weeks) happened in Sunday’s Miami Dolphins/Houston Texans game.

Worse, it was was a virtual instant replay (pun intended) of the Broncos/Chargers blown call that received so much attention. Although few NFL fans saw the Dolphins/Texans game in their market, everybody got to see the highlight of Houston quarterback Matt Schaub plunging into the endzone with the game’s winning score. Unfortunately, that play never should have happened. Earlier in the drive, Schaub fumbled when he was hit by  Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter. AGAIN Hochuli whistled the play dead before the fumble even though replays show he clearly got the play wrong. AGAIN!

JAY CUTLER: FUMBLE? WHAT FUMBLE?

The latest Hochuli call was so shameful that replay officials didn’t even review it (thus, Porter’s complaint.) The last thing the league wanted was ANOTHER controversy over ANOTHER blown call by Hochuli. The play was EXACTLY the same as the one where Hochuli ruled Denver quarterback Jay Cutler’s fumble never happened.

Just days ago, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reportedly gave his refs a pep talk via conference call. The vote of confidence/pat on the back was due SOLELY to the incompetence of the Hochuli crew and their numerous blown calls this season. The result? Hochuli blew another call on Sunday.

You know the NFL is in a bad position when Joey Porter comes across as the sane one. The best part of this entire fiasco is that Porter is now demanding an apology from the league over Hochuli’s blown call.
