SOUTH AFRICA CRIES RACISM OVER MANNISH RUNNER: “WHO ARE WHITE PEOPLE TO QUESTION AN AFRICAN GIRL?”

Caster Semenya is now the most famous female track athlete in the world. That is IF Semenya is indeed a female.

Controversy has raged since Semenya won the 800 meter women’s race at the World Championships in Berlin this month. After Semenya destroyed her competition, international track officials ordered her to undergo a “gender identification” test. Semenya now has to prove she’s a woman. Critics contend Semenya is really a man. British bookmakers are even taking bets on the topic. You can actually bet money on whether you think Semenya is a man, a woman, or a hermaphrodite.

This despite the fact that Semenya has a birth certificate proclaiming her a woman, has passed two previous gender tests and has SHOWN officials her vagina. Not good enough. The IAAF has ordered the gender test saying, “Private parts do not answer the question.”

Tuesday, the teen-aged Semenya returned to South Africa where she was cheered as a conquering hero. Thousands of fans greeted her at the airport. A multitude of South African politicians and track officials have also come to Semenya’s aide. One cried racism saying, “Who are white people to question the makeup of an African girl? It is racism.”

Semenya’s defenders say her deep voice and masculine features are the result of a naturally occuring high level of testosterone produced by her own body. Yeah…about that: Some say Semenya may very well be a woman. A woman on steroids. Her coach is Ekkart Arbeit. He was once a womens track coach in East Germany.

Arbeit is one one the most disgraced figures in track and field history. He was one of the primary culprits from the bad old days of Olympic cheating by the East Germans. One of Arbeit’s former shot putters describes how he pumped her so full of steroids that she eventually just gave up and underwent a sex change operation to become a man. It was because of Arbeit and East Germany’s tactics that the Olympics implemented gender testing in the first place during the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. The East Germans regularly tried to pass men off as women in the Olympics. Once East Germany went away as a country, the practice of gender testing athletes was discontinued in 1999. Arbeit swears he hasn’t done anything wrong since 1989.

One other interesting note from Seneya’s public appearance on Tuesday-she was introduced on-stage by the “highly controversial” ex-wife of Nelson Mandela. Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is an accused murderer and convicted swindler.
