UFC 113 takes place tomorrow in Montreal. The top of the card features Lyoto Machida taking on Mauricio Rua for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.

However, Mixed Martial Arts fans may be more interested in the appearance of Kimbo Slice. Slice is a YouTube street fighting legend who fought on CBS a couple times for an organization called Elite XC. He made his UFC debut on the hit Spike TV reality show The Ultimate Fighter last season. Slice’s appearance on the show led to all-time record ratings. Slice actually beat an accomplished fighter, Houston Alexander, in the TUF season finale. His UFC 113 opponent is former professional football player Matt Mitrione who once played defensive tackle for the NFL’s New York Giants.

The UFC is hoping Slice puts on a better show than the last fight he had before a large national audience. Slice virtually singlehandedly put Elite XC out of business when he suffered a humiliating loss to a last minute replacement named Seth Petruzelli-a dude who had pink hair, liked to take bubble baths, posed in womens’ clothing and made out with other guys.

Petruzelli knocked Slice out in 14 seconds. However, since that debacle, Slice has competed on TUF Season 10, beat Houston Alexander, and been training with Ricardo Liborio and American Top Team. Experts say Slice is much-improved.

Other fighters on the UFC 113 card include UFC veteran and former collegiate wrestling champ Josh Kosheck, Jason “The Athlete” MacDonald, and Canadians Patrick Cote and Sam Stout.

Before he became an MMA fighter, Kimbo Slice used to be a bodyguard  for a XXX film company. Now that company (Reality Kings) has put Slice in one of its adult movies. Slice does not have sex in the film but appears onscreen as an extra/bodyguard. Slice recently attended an adult film party with Reality Kings:

The ratings are in and Kimbo Slice continues to set tv viewer records for the Spike TV UFC reality show “The Ultimate Fighter.” A total of 6.8 million viewers tuned in to TUF last Wednesday to watch the fight between Slice and Roy Nelson. Unfortunately, Slice ended up losing the fight thus theoretically being eliminated from this year’s TUF competition. However, the way UFC execs have been talking don’t count out another appearance on the show by Slice. After all, he’s ratings gold.

During the final 15 minutes of the Slice/Nelson fight, Spike TV drew an astronomical 7.86 share with men 18-34. That’s the highest ratings in the history of “The Ultimate Fighter” show. Hell, it’s the highest numbers in the history of the network. More people were watching that fight than CBS. UFC President Dana White called the numbers “beyond huge.” And, all of the people watching Wednesday’s fight are in the key youth demographic.

Kimbo Slice is good television. Despite losing on Spike TV’s UFC reality show “The Ultimate Fighter” last night, there is already speculation that the popular Slice will be brought back as a replacement fighter later in this year’s show.

Slice was beaten by veteran Roy Nelson, a far more experienced fighter, in a bout that was shown last night on TUF. Still, Slice may have impressed UFC president Dana White more than Nelson did. Previously one of Slice’s biggest critics, White is now on record as saying Slice has a future in UFC. There is already talk of a Slice/Nelson rematch.

If you’re the new “Baddest Man on the Planet” do you really need a gun? Apparently so.

Steve Cofield of Yahoo! Sports has an interesting story today that there are rumors of Slice once pulling a gun on a guy who arm barred him in a training session. The story was told by Justin Wren, a fellow contestant with Slice on Season 10 of the UFC reality tv show “The Ultimate Fighter.”

Wren admits the story may be hyperbole put out by Kimbo Slice himself to avoid other fighters from messing with him. However, Wren says he heard the story “straight from Kimbo’s mouth.”

The Spike TV reality show “The Ultimate Fighter” has had its ratings in decline for the past couple of years. That was before Kimbo Slice.

Season 10 of TUF opened with record ratings last week. An astronomical 4.1 million people tuned in to watch the UFC debut of Slice, the YouTube legend and former EliteXC headliner. That’s the most total viewers in the history of TUF. According to Yahoo! Sports, more males 18-34 watched Episode 1 of Season 10 of “The Ultimate Fighter” than typically tune in to a World Series game. The show drew a 5.3 share in that demographic.

Apparently, the public has a short memory. In his last fight on CBS, Slice was knocked out in 14 seconds by a replacement fighter named Seth Petruzelli. UFC President Dana White has long been one of Kimbo Slice’s harshest critics.

Slice is a former YouTube/Internet streetfighting sensation. He was then an EliteXC MMA fighter who failed miserably in his last fight on CBS. He was humiliated and knocked out by Seth Petruzelli, a last minute replacement for Ken Shamrock.

As Kevin Iole writes for Yahoo! Sports today, UFC president Dana White has called Kimbo Slice a “joke,” a “bum,” and “not a real fighter” in the past. Now though, White has signed the former street fighter for the upcoming Season 10 of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV. Slice will be one of 16 fighters on the reality tv show this season. TUF is the UFC reality show where a series of fighters battle each other for a spot in the UFC.

Slice was showcased on the CBS broadcasts of Elite XC, network television’s first venture into MMA. That organization went out of business. Slice last fought and lost an embaracing debacle to replacement fighter Seth Petruzelli last October.

Very rarely do you see the loss of ONE guy destroy an entire company. However, as we speculated about at the time, that’s exactly what has happened to the MMA organization Elite XC following Kimbo Slice’s recent disastrous loss.

SI.com is reporting that Elite XC and its parent company have folded. In addition to Kimbo Slice now being virtually unemployable, sadly the demise of Elite XC also means unemployment for female MMA fighter Gina Carano.

KIMBO SLICE: THE LEGEND IS OVER

What a disaster.

MMA organization Elite XC suffered such an embarrassing night Saturday that they may be out of business. TV ratings on CBS had been plummeting for Elite XC, but they hoped putting their “star” fighter, Kimbo Slice, into the ring against UFC Hall-of-Famer Ken Shamrock would capture ratings.

Unfortunately, not only did Shamrock miss the fight, but “Kimbo Slice’s 15 minutes of fame may have ended in 14 seconds.”

Slice has been hyped up and promoted as the “face” of Elite XC. Saturday night he fell on that face. Hard.

The disaster started for Elite XC when the 44-year-old Shamrock suffered a cut over his eye in a light practice session the day before the fight. State officials in Florida refused to clear Shamrock for the fight and declared him “unfit” to compete. Scrambling for a replacement, Elite XC came up with a complete unknown named Seth Petruzelli.

Petruzelli was supposed to be an easy win for Slice. A complete tomato can. Unfortunately, he destroyed Slice, knocking him out 14 seconds into the first round. Slice’s loss now leaves Elite XC in shambles. The organization had lacked any real big-name MMA fighters. They had hoped to create stars of their own through their tv deal with CBS. Now, their biggest “star” has been revealed as a total joke.

Slice was a Youtube star. Videos of his unsanctioned street fights were internet legend. He was being hyped by Elite XC and CBS as the new “Baddest Man on the Planet.” Instead, Slice has been revealed as just being bad. He has had his MMA career likely ended (or at a minimum completely revealed as a fraud) by an unknown, pink-haired, palooka.
